Trowbridge historic events venue back on the market

Parade House in Trowbridge is back on the market with a price tag of £950,000.

The impressive Georgian townhouse and award-winning events venue was built around 1720 for the wealthy cloth merchant Robert Houlton. The Grade I listed property is one of the town’s most iconic buildings and has been sympathetically restored and refurbished by the current owners, Carey and Simon Tesler.

Spread over four floors, Parade House offers a selection of elegant, generously proportioned rooms with high ceilings, sash windows, marble fireplaces and detailed ceiling covings, all quintessential of the Georgian period.

The venue boasts a wealth of original period features, including a grand 18th century carved oak staircase and a first-floor Ballroom. The largest entertaining space in the property, the Ballroom, spans the entire width of the house and is filled with natural light, featuring seven full-height sash windows, two fireplaces and four large chandeliers.

Recent additions include the creation of a stylish new private bar, lounge and a cinema in the historic vaults, with raked seating and a state-of-the-art interactive screen and sound system.

A large new event kitchen on the top floor can cater for both public and private events, while a landscaped lawn area sits to the front of the property and there is off-street parking for six cars.

Following its meticulous restoration, Parade House has frequently featured in the press and on BBC TV and Radio, with a loyal and fast-growing visitor base and a reputation as one of the most prestigious venues in the area.
