TBE’s Year in Review: Systemagic Reflects on 2025 and Looks Ahead to 2026

As part of our Year in Review series, we caught up with Fiona Burgess, Operations Director at Systemagic, to reflect on the biggest achievements of 2025 and what’s ahead for 2026.

What’s been your biggest win this year?

Despite a busy year, our team has continued to maintain an excellent standard of customer service and care. We celebrated 26 years in business and are proud to still work with clients who joined us at the very start. A standout achievement was winning the IT contract for the Women’s Super League as they branched off from the FA to further expand women’s football in the UK. We’ve also partnered with some exciting tech, software, and sustainability clients.

What’s the proudest moment for your team this year?

Seeing our apprentices pass their final exams with flying colours – each one achieving a Distinction – was a huge highlight. They’ve worked incredibly hard and made a real impact on the business. The whole team is immensely proud of them.

What trends are you keeping a close eye on?

Technology evolves rapidly, and so do the cyber threats SMEs face. We’re monitoring emerging threats closely to ensure our customers have the tools and practices to stay protected and run smoothly. We’re working hand-in-hand with leading cyber security companies to provide best practice guidance and timely advice.

How are you supporting wellbeing and work-life balance?

Taking care of our team is a top priority. This year, we introduced several wellbeing initiatives, including Mental Health Mondays, where our Mental Health First Aiders present on key topics and share practical tips and resources. Topics have included managing stress, recognising signs of burnout, and building healthy habits.

I hear it’s been a big year for you personally too…

Yes! I got married just a week ago. I’m now Fiona Burgess – formerly Fiona Major. I’m looking forward to a lovely Christmas and moving into the new year with my new name.
