Selwood Housing makes fresh appointments to the board of directors as Chair exits
Trowbridge-based housing association Selwood Housing has marked the start of the new year with a round of changes to its board of directors.
The incumbent Chair of the board, Sheila Lewis, has stepped down having served the full length of her term. She has led the board for the last six years and has brought great experience and tenacity to the role, with over 40 years spent working within the housing sector.
As Sheila departs, the company has welcomed Marie Li Mow Ching as its new Chair. Marie has been a member of the board for the last two years, also acting as Committee Chair for the company’s group asset and development committee. Marie has held a variety of non-executive roles within the housing sector, including chair positions, as well as a career working across several government departments.
Barry Hughes, Chief Executive Officer of Selwood Housing, said, “Sheila has provided fantastic leadership to Selwood Housing and its board in her time as Chair. Under her leadership, Selwood Housing has continued to grow and provide excellent services to its customers. We have recently reported excellent tenant satisfaction measures and have maintained the top rating for governance from the Regulator of Social Housing. We wish Sheila well; she can be very proud of the difference she has made to Selwood Housing.
“In Sheila’s place, I look forward to working more closely with Marie Li Mow Ching. She brings wide-ranging experience to the role and, I’m sure, will continue on the good work that Sheila has contributed to.”
In addition to changes to its Chair position, Selwood Housing has also appointed the following new directors to its board: David Hobdey (who will also take on the role of Chair for the group asset and development committee), Sam Whatley and Maureen Robinson.
