Feeling the heat? Discover how to enjoy a more comfortable home
The National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC), the UK’s award-winning homebuilding visitor centre, is hosting a free drop-in clinic focused on home ventilation on Saturday 4th July.
Running from 10am to 3pm at its Swindon base, the half-day event is designed to help homeowners better understand how ventilation impacts comfort, energy efficiency and indoor air quality – particularly during periods of hot weather.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore practical solutions to common challenges such as overheating, poor air quality and condensation, with expert-led masterclasses and one-to-one consultations available throughout the day.
Taking a ‘fabric first’ approach, the NSBRC will highlight the importance of ventilation in overall building performance, from heat retention and energy use to long-term durability. Getting this balance right at the design stage can help avoid costly issues later on.
The session will cover a range of systems, including Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and air conditioning, offering guidance for both self-build projects and existing home upgrades.
Confirmed exhibitors include The Unico System, Airflow Developments, Total Home Environment, Ubbink and Cambridge Retrofit Hub, with live demonstrations and practical advice available on the day.
The NSBRC is located at Junction 16 of the M4 in Swindon (SN5 8UB). Book your free tickets here.
