Edmont lands national award for Heathrow project 

Swindon-based fit-out company Edmont has won a prestigious national award for its work creating a new boutique for The Macallan at Heathrow Airport. 

The firm was named Retail Project of the Year at the 2026 Fit Out Awards UK, recognising the craftsmanship, technical expertise and teamwork involved in bringing the ambitious project to life inside one of the world’s busiest airports. 

Designed by architect Jamie Fobert, the space tells the story of luxury whisky brand The Macallan through an intricate combination of materials and bespoke architectural features. 

Edmont’s teams were responsible for taking the design concept through technical development, manufacture and installation, creating complex elements including curved polished concrete and layered Portland stone walls, sleek copper-clad columns and a striking wave wall of oak shelving, handcrafted by the company’s specialist joinery team. 

Delivering the project required a combination of traditional craftsmanship, precision engineering and technical problem-solving, together with meticulous planning to overcome the considerable logistical challenges of working within a busy international airport. 

The project was led by Edmont’s specialist Fit Out team, working closely with colleagues across the company’s Joinery and Mechanical & Electrical teams. 

The award is a significant achievement for the wider Edmont team, recognising the breadth of expertise required to turn an ambitious architectural concept into a finished boutique, while meeting the exacting requirements of an airport environment.

The 2026 Fit Out Awards UK took place on 24th September in London.
