As January draws to a close, one lesson stands out for me and my team at KR HR & Training Consultancy: expect the unexpected. HR has always required a level head and the ability to adapt at pace, but 2025 brought a fresh wave of surprises — from policy shifts to unexpected workplace behaviours. If anything, it reminded us why our work is never dull and why agility sits at the heart of effective people practice.

Highlights From 2025
My proudest moment of the year? Winning the Dream Team Award at TBE Awards 2025. We were also finalists in the Positive Business category. The Dream Team win offered powerful external recognition of something we already knew — we’re a cohesive, supportive, genuinely happy team. Each of us faced personal challenges over the past year, but the strength of our relationships made those moments easier to navigate. The result? A tighter, more resilient team heading into 2026.

What’s New for 2026
This year promises growth, fresh thinking and deeper collaboration across the business community.

A New Free Webinar Series
Launched in November 2025 and continuing into 2026, our new webinar series — Positive People Practices — is designed to help business owners and line managers thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Expect:
  • Practical tips
  • Clear, accessible HR insight
  • Guest experts
  • Guidance shaped by the latest legislative developments

The aim is simple: give organisations the tools they need to navigate the year with confidence.

Championing Safer Workplaces
As active members of the Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse, we will continue to champion safer, supportive workplaces. Significant collaborations are developing behind the scenes, with more to be announced as the year unfolds.

Employment Rights Bill: Keeping Employers Ahead

With the Employment Rights Act 2025 now on the statute books, we’re closely tracking how the legislation will be implemented between now and 2027 to ensure our clients are informed and prepared.

Updates will continue to be shared through:

  • Our website
  • Newsletters
  • Social channels
  • Bespoke management training

Our first Management Masterclass of 2026 takes place on Wednesday 4th February in Royal Wootton Bassett, with refreshed content to help employers prepare for the changes ahead.

Investing in Development
To stay ahead of shifting demands, my team and I continue to invest time and resource in our own professional development. Continued learning underpins our ability to support clients with clarity, accuracy and confidence.

Innovation That Makes a Difference
Technology remains a key ally. A standout moment in 2025 was becoming a Gold Partner with Breathe — recognition that reflects our commitment to helping businesses streamline people processes.
Breathe’s latest advancements, particularly in e‑learning and people‑data management, have already made a tangible difference to clients looking to strengthen employee development and simplify admin.
