Wroughton financial firm praised in national workplace awards

The team at Southby & Co. Financial Planning, based in Wroughton, has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in multiple categories at prestigious national awards recognising financial services firms that are building strong, supportive working environments.

The firm received ‘Highly Commended’ in both the Women’s Equality Champion and Mental Health Advocacy categories at the Workplace Excellence Awards 2026, run by FT Adviser.

Now in their eighth year, the awards highlight businesses across the UK that are making a genuine difference in how they support their people, from day-to-day culture to inclusion and development.

Founder Dave Southby said, “Being acknowledged for creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued and empowered is something we’re incredibly proud of. The awards focus on what firms are actively doing for their people, rather than what sits in policy documents. Being ‘Highly Commended’ in the Mental Health Advocacy category is a particular honour for the team.

Dave added, “When it comes to financial support and advice, putting mental health first is essential. It starts within our team and extends to our clients. Being recognised for our efforts in mental health awareness and support is fantastic and it motivates us to keep going.”

Recognition in the Women’s Equality Champion category is especially meaningful to financial adviser Jenny Ashfield.

She said, “I’m really passionate about helping more women feel confident with their finances, so being part of a business that supports that and encourages those conversations makes a real difference day to day.”

Southby & Co. has grown into a six-strong team working with clients across Swindon and North Wiltshire, as it approaches its fifth anniversary. The business has come a long way from its early days as a one-person operation.
