Wiltshire charity pledges to match £5K in donations for abuse victims

FearFree, a Trowbridge-based charity that helps over 9,000 women and girls each year who are impacted by domestic abuse, has been chosen to be a part of The Big Give Women and Girl’s Fund campaign from 10th to 17th October.

This means every donation will be matched, doubling your impact – your £20 becomes £40 and FearFree’s £50 becomes £100.

The charity hopes to raise £5K which it will double to £10K, money which could fund the training costs of four specialised front-line workers who help hundreds of high-risk victims recover from abuse every year.

FearFree applied to be part of the campaign which is run by Big Give – an organisation that matches donations to charities, with the goal of doubling the impact of each donation.

Your gift will also help to provide:

  • Safe spaces where women and girls can heal and rebuild
  • Empowerment through education, job training, and financial skills
  • Comprehensive support including help accessing food banks, healthcare, and legal services.

Jessica Benjamin, Head of Fundraising at FearFree, said, “A mum recently told me: I think of your service like a lighthouse. We are out at sea on a boat trying to survive and I honestly think we’d have lost our way without you.

“This sadly is a reality for so many families we support across Wiltshire and the South West. Right now, we really need the community’s support to keep going and to keep our light shining bright. Please consider donating to our Big Give Campaign. It’s an amazing opportunity for your business to support us, knowing it’s doubled, and it goes to a local charity that really works to change lives forever!”

She added, “Now more than ever, families in our community need our support.”
