UK Shared Business Services (UKSBS), based in Swindon, has won Training Programme of the Year at the 2026 Operational Excellence Awards.

The award was presented on Thursday 24th September for UKSBS’s Green Belt Lean Six Sigma training programme, which demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to equipping its people with the skills and tools they need to drive continuous improvement.

In the past 12 months, three cohorts of UKSBS employees have completed the Green Belt Lean Six Sigma programme. Accreditation is earned not through course attendance alone, but by delivering a real-world improvement project with measurable outcomes.

Those projects are already making a difference, from enhancing customer feedback processes to improving the quality and accessibility of guidance and knowledge resources. By embedding continuous improvement across the organisation, UKSBS is helping to create more efficient services, better customer experiences and simpler ways for people to access the support they need.

Julie Lammond-Ross, Operational Excellence Senior Manager, said, “I’m honestly thrilled on behalf of the Operational Excellence team and UKSBS. This further supports our continuous improvement strategy as we continue to build our Lean capability in Green, Yellow and White Belt, driving improvements for both UKSBS and our clients, and empowering our teams.”

Richard Semple, CEO of UKSBS, added, “This is excellent news and reflects the hard work of our Operational Excellence team and colleagues across UKSBS. It absolutely reflects our constant drive for service excellence, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.”

The win formed part of a strong showing for UKSBS at this year’s awards, where the organisation was shortlisted in five categories in total, including Operations Team of the Year and Operational Excellence in Public Sector.
