Richardson Swift looks for business positivity at TBE Awards
This year’s TBE Awards take place on Thursday 6th November in Swindon.
One of the most hotly contested categories is the Positive Business Award which is sponsored for the second year running by Richardson Swift.
The category aims to shine a light on organisations making an outstanding contribution to the community. It looks at how businesses make a positive impact through:
- Fundraising efforts
- Time donated to local causes
- Events with impact
- Green initiatives
- Mental health/wellbeing initiatives
- Social positive impact within their sector
We asked Richardson Swift’s Marketing Manager Helen Keating about the business and its involvement in the 2025 TBE Awards.
Can you give us an overview of your organisation?
Richardson Swift is Bath’s largest independent firm of chartered accountants and chartered tax advisers, based solely in the city. We specialise in aspirational business owners, individuals and families, focusing on building life-long relationships so we can avoid pitfalls and anticipate curve balls. As a 40-plus team, we have experts with experience across the range of business sectors, charities, and lifetime, IHT and trust planning for individuals.
Why did you decide to sponsor a TBE Award category this year?
The TBE Awards are a true celebration of the regions’ businesses and the people behind them.
What was it about the category you’re sponsoring that appealed to you?
This is the second year running that we have sponsored the Positive Business Award and we really feel it’s an important one to support. Last year’s winner, Dave Southby of Southby & Co Financial Planning, grew his business from a small team and made a huge difference in his local community – from school outreach to charity fundraising. You don’t need to be big to make a big impact, but supporting the community that supports your business is a win/win.
Are there other categories you’ll be keeping a close eye on?
We have a particular interest in the outcome of the Best Start-Up Business Award, because we know and support lots of young entrepreneurs and take a real genuine pleasure in seeing them succeed, and likewise the Going for Growth Award, which is all about post-start-up businesses capitalising on success to scale-up.
What are you looking forward to about Awards night?
Awards night give us the opportunity to find out more about other companies that are setting up and growing in our area. As a Bath-based business, it is really important that we stay connected to our local business community, and the inclusive and informal nature of these awards gives us a real opportunity to discover more about the wide spectrum of other businesses at all stages that form part of that community.
Oh, and of course the street food!
