Swindon-based Gensmile secures fresh funding to invest in digital dentistry and training
Swindon-headquartered Gensmile Limited, one of the UK’s leading private dental care groups, has secured fresh funding from NatWest to accelerate its development across the South West. With a new loan and credit facility agreed in March 2026, Gensmile is set to continue developing its practices as centres of clinical excellence, offering specialist dental care and hands-on training while helping to develop the dental leaders of the future.
Founded in 2014 by Simon Turton, PhD, and Nick Lowcock, Gensmile has grown from its Swindon headquarters into one of the UK’s leading private dental care groups, now operating 76 dental practices with annual turnover exceeding £110 million. Gensmile’s unique partnership model enables each practice to retain its local character and clinical independence while benefiting from corporate-level financial backing and expert business support.
The new funding will support Gensmile’s ambition to lead the industry in digital dentistry, including investment in AI-driven diagnostic tools and 3D intra-oral scanning technology. These advancements will make dental visits faster, more accurate and less invasive, improving patient care and outcomes. In addition, Gensmile’s internal training academy and apprenticeship programmes will provide career pathways and professional qualifications for local dental nurses, supporting job creation and community development.
Gensmile remains committed to supporting local communities, helping neighbourhood dental practices thrive while upgrading clinics with the latest equipment. The company also delivers oral health workshops and sponsors community events, extending its impact beyond patient care.
