Real-world defence at Onecom’s Cybersecurity Event
Swindon-based Onecom recently hosted an event with the South West Police Regional Cyber Crime Unit and Threatdown at the Steam Museum, Swindon.
Guests gained hands-on experience of cyber threats through live exercises, strategy sessions and expert insights, including a LEGO-based simulation of a cyber-attack.
Participants engaged in activities designed to enhance their understanding of current cyber threats and how to counteract them. Attendees had the opportunity to discuss real-world scenarios and best practices in cybersecurity with industry professionals. The live exercises allowed guests to experience firsthand the challenges of managing a cyber incident, while the strategy sessions provided a platform for developing effective response plans.
The LEGO-based simulation depicted a full-scale cyber-attack, enabling attendees to visualise and respond to the unfolding scenario in a controlled environment. This innovative approach not only made the learning process engaging but also reinforced key concepts in network security and threat management.
The event received praise for its interactive format and practical knowledge, successfully raising awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and equipping participants with the skills to protect their organisations from potential cyber threats.
You can keep your finger on the pulse of the latest cyber threats with Onecom’s upcoming webinar: 6 Critical Cyberthreats – and How to Counter Them.
The webinar takes place on Thursday 26th June at 11am. Attendees will learn from Malwarebytes Cybersecurity Evangelist Mark Stockley about the six most critical cyber threats of 2025 and the proactive measures IT and Security teams can take to protect data, devices and businesses.
