Local accountancy firm raises £62,500 for local charities to celebrate 10 years in business
To celebrate ten years in business the team at Gooding Accounts set themselves an ambitious target of raising £50,000 for local charities in 2024.
It’s been a very busy year of fundraising with a series of events organised by the firm plus a wide range of personal challenges taken on members of the team from all three of Gooding Accounts offices in Westbury, Warminster and Melksham. From the Partners, to Senior Management to the youngest accountancy apprentices the entire year was a real team effort as they worked towards the target.
Emma Phillips, Marketing Manager at Gooding Accounts said, “Everyone at Gooding Accounts would like to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to every single person who came along to one of our events or made a donation to the team’s challenges.”
The Goodings’ Team are absolutely thrilled to announce that they’ve far exceeded the initial target raising a grand total of £62,500 for many different charities whose causes mean so much to them. Emma added, “As charities continue to find it difficult to raise funds in the current financial climate, we hope that the money raised will go a little towards helping local charities continue their fantastic work in 2025 and beyond.”
Gooding Accounts Founder and Partner Sam Gooding said, “It’s been a fantastic year of fundraising and I’m incredibly proud of the entire team. When we set ourselves the challenge to raise £50,000 we knew it would take a huge amount of effort – but I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve managed to go so far beyond the target and donate such a huge amount to many charities who support our community.
“A special ‘thank you’ goes out to Corporate Sponsors, Lawes Steel, JJ Bricklaying and BB Fixings for their donations, their generosity helped us make every single event throughout the year a great success.”
The range of events and personal challenges this year has been truly inspirational. The team took on a Summer of Ultra Marathons, a night-time Snowdon ascent, Skydives, half marathons, a 6 months sober challenge and many more. Highlights from the events calendar included two Quiz Nights, a Grand Summer Party, Bingo Evening, Golf Day, Sportman’s Dinner, and Christmas Auction.
