Leafield Environmental backs Corsham recycling initiative
A Corsham manufacturer has donated two new recycling bins to a community recycling hub, helping local residents recycle items that are difficult to dispose of through household collections.
Leafield Environmental, based in Corsham, presented the bins to volunteers from Corsham Climate Action during a community litter pick held at Springfield Community Campus in September.
The volunteer-led Recycling Hub accepts a wide range of materials, including soft plastics, printer cartridges, writing instruments and spectacles, providing residents with an alternative route for recycling items that are not collected through standard kerbside schemes.
The donation includes a Pencil Bin for collecting soft plastics and an EnviroBin Midi for printer cartridges, replacing older bins that had reached the end of their useful life. The new containers feature clear labelling designed to help visitors correctly separate recyclable materials and reduce contamination.
Leafield Managing Director, Philip Maddox, formally handed over the bins during the event, which brought together local volunteers and families to help keep Corsham’s streets, parks and green spaces free from litter.
Steve Abbott, Corsham Town Councillor and member of Corsham Climate Action, said, “I would like to thank Leafield Environmental for their very kind donation of two recycling bins for Corsham Recycling Hub. The bins are both very sturdy, and the accompanying labels should be clear to users, thereby avoiding contamination issues. The Pencil Bin will be used for soft plastics to encourage kids to recycle, as it is a great novelty bin.”
The hub has become an increasingly valuable community resource, supporting local efforts to reduce waste and improve recycling rates.
For Leafield Environmental, the donation forms part of its commitment to supporting organisations and initiatives that are helping create cleaner, more sustainable communities.
