Wiltshire-based Goughs Solicitors has announced that Tom Gauterin has joined the firm as Legal Director, based at the Greenways office, further enhancing the firm’s Private Wealth and tax advisory capabilities.
Tom is a skilled private client and tax lawyer with 19 years’ post-qualification experience and is a Chartered Tax Advisor. He also brings significant expertise in charity law.
His career spans a number of highly regarded UK firms, including Smith & Williamson, Taylor Wessing, and Burges Salmon. Throughout this time, Tom has built a strong reputation for advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on complex UK and international tax and succession planning matters.
His expertise includes inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, estate and succession planning, domicile and residency issues, multi-jurisdictional estate strategies, family investment companies, private equity tax planning, and complex governance arrangements. Tom’s depth of experience and technical knowledge will significantly strengthen Goughs’ ability to advise clients with sophisticated private wealth needs.
In this newly created role, Tom will be reporting to Phillip Bolton Head of Private Client and Equity Partner.
