Donate IT celebrates 2,000th donation with support from Blackmore UK
Donate IT, a community-driven initiative dedicated to reducing digital poverty across the South West, has marked a major milestone.
Supported by Warminster-based Blackmore UK, the Somerset charity refurbishes and redistributes donated devices to individuals and families who would otherwise lack access to essential technology – and has recently received its 2,000th donation.
On behalf of Donate IT, Blackmore UK turns redundant technology into real opportunities for people who may otherwise be left offline. Their ongoing commitment ensures devices can be processed securely, responsibly and with maximum impact for the communities served.
To mark the 2,000th donation, Donate IT held a special event attended by partners, supporters and members of the community.
The gathering brought together a wide network of individuals who have played a vital role in advancing Donate IT’s mission to reduce digital poverty across the South West.
Featuring speeches that highlighted the organisation’s journey, impact and growing collaborations, the event offered insights into the essential work of Donate IT.
Simon Barfoot, Founder and Head Trustee of Donate IT and Director of Blackmore UK, said, “It was such a pleasure to celebrate our Somerset-based Charity, Donate IT, reaching the amazing milestone of its 2,000th refurbished device donation. As Founder and Head Trustee, seeing more than 70 representatives from our partner organisations, supporters, and beneficiary groups come together made the event a powerful reminder that Donate IT’s milestone is, above all, a shared achievement made possible by our collective efforts.
“I was especially grateful to our honoured guests, Sarah Dyke MP and Ted Allen Esq, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, whose thoughtful speeches added real significance to the occasion. Their presence highlighted the importance of our mission, not only in reducing digital poverty across the South West but also in supporting a more sustainable future.
