Chalkhill Blue advises ADP Group on significant acquisition
Wiltshire’s Chalkhill Blue has successfully advised its client, ADP Group Limited, on the acquisition of Geotron UK Limited.
The transaction, completed in October, brings together two well-established specialist drilling businesses, creating a stronger national group with enhanced capabilities across the geotechnical and geo-environmental sectors.
The acquisition sees Manchester-based Geotron join ADP Group, extending the group’s geographical reach into the North West of England and complementing its established operations in the South West. The combined businesses will benefit from a larger fleet of specialist drilling equipment, increased technical expertise and an expanded service offering to clients across the construction, infrastructure and environmental sectors.
Chalkhill Blue worked closely with ADP Group’s shareholders and leadership team to develop the acquisition strategy, provide commercial guidance and oversee the transaction through to successful completion.
The wider deal team included Thrings Solicitors, providing legal advice, and Purple Lime Accountancy, supporting the financial and accountancy aspects of the transaction.
Chris Spratling, Managing Director at Chalkhill Blue, said, “It’s been a real pleasure to support Tom and the team at ADP Group on this important acquisition. Bringing together two highly respected businesses with complementary capabilities, strong reputations and shared values represents a fantastic opportunity.
“Acquisitions can be a powerful way to accelerate growth when they’re driven by a clear strategy and strong commercial rationale. We’re delighted to have played a leading role in delivering this transaction alongside our trusted partners at Thrings and Purple Lime, and look forward to supporting the enlarged group’s continued growth.”
Tom Page, Group Managing Director at ADP Group, added, “The acquisition of Geotron represents a hugely exciting step forward for our business. Their excellent reputation, experienced team and specialist capabilities make them a fantastic fit for ADP Group.
“Chalkhill Blue’s strategic advice, commercial insight and hands-on support throughout the acquisition process have been invaluable. We’re now looking forward to bringing the two businesses together and realising the significant growth opportunities ahead.”
The acquisition represents another important step in ADP Group’s long-term growth ambitions, creating a stronger platform for continued investment in people, equipment and specialist services while expanding its national presence.
Chalkhill Blue specialises in helping ambitious SME owners scale, strengthen and successfully transition their businesses through strategic growth planning, mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts and employee ownership transactions.
