Luthmore, the Chippenham-based company behind the zero-emission boiler, Luthmore One, has announced a new partnership with Wiltshire College & University Centre to deliver hands-on training for installers at its Lackham campus.

Supporting the next generation of heating professionals and accelerating local upskilling, the training programme was launched today (16th June).

In response to growing consumer demand for its flagship product, the initiative will expand Luthmore’s installer training capacity via a dedicated presence within the college’s Green Skills Innovation Centre, alongside practical learning in the Eco House, a full-scale property fitted with low carbon technologies.

The Green Skills Innovation Centre was established to help meet increasing demand for sustainable construction and low-carbon technology skills, providing learners and industry professionals with access to specialist training facilities and real-world learning environments.

The programme is designed to address the growing demand for skilled installers, with the first week’s cohort already fully subscribed. Six to seven training places were made available, all of which were quickly filled, underlining strong demand from installers across the region, and beyond, to upskill on new systems.

Initially, the training will focus on supporting qualified installers, providing small group sessions that allow individuals to gain hands-on experience in installation, commissioning and fault finding in a real-world scenario. Longer-term, the partnership opens the door to deeper integration into college courses, helping to inspire future entrants into the sector.

The collaboration has been supported by local MP Sarah Gibson, who helped bring Luthmore and Wiltshire College & University Centre together to create the training initiative.

Speaking on the announcement, Luthmore CEO, Herve Dehareng, said, “Demand for skilled installers is growing rapidly as the market evolves. Through this partnership, we are equipping installers with the expertise they need to work with new technologies, while also creating opportunities for them to grow their businesses and access new work.”

Adam Bladwell, Commercial Manager at Wiltshire College & University Centre, added, “This partnership strengthens our commitment to delivering practical, industry led training. By working with Luthmore, we are providing access to real systems and real environments that will not only help learners and professionals build confidence but also improve their capabilities and ability to deliver for the future.”

Sarah Gibson, Liberal Democrat MP for Chippenham, said, “I am delighted to have helped bring Luthmore and Wiltshire College together for this important partnership, which will give local installers the hands-on skills they need to work with the next generation of low-carbon heating technology.

“Luthmore is an exciting Chippenham business developing innovative zero-emission heating, and this collaboration shows how local industry and education providers can work together to create skilled jobs, support small businesses, and put Wiltshire at the forefront of the green economy.

“I want to see practical action that gives people the skills, training and opportunities they need to succeed in the jobs of the future. I will continue to champion the investment and policy support needed to help local clean-tech businesses like Luthmore grow, create skilled jobs and deliver for communities across Wiltshire and the South West.”

Based in Chippenham, Luthmore is part of a growing cluster of South West innovators emerging from the region’s engineering and manufacturing heritage, and is investing in training to ensure installers are equipped to meet evolving customer needs.

As the training centre develops, the partnership will continue to explore ways to expand access, supporting both experienced installers and future talent entering the industry.
