To mark International Women’s Day 2026, we’re celebrating Swindon & Wiltshire’s most inspiring women.
Through our website and social media channels, we asked our readers which women in our community inspire them and created a list of 20. The list will be featured in our Spring magazine and every weekday throughout March we are profiling and championing each of these fantastic women online and via our social feeds.
Today we put the spotlight on Rachael Matwiejczyk Booth.
Tell us about you and your work…
I’m a Sales and Marketing Director with over 25 years’ experience across a range of sales and marketing roles within media and event-led businesses, including digital, print and radio. I’ve built my career around driving sustained revenue growth, expanding territories and developing long-term client relationships and partnerships rooted in trust and integrity. I’m known for my warm, friendly and approachable manner, bringing a positive, people-focused energy to everything I do. Originally from Liverpool, I’ve made Wiltshire my home for over 20 years, though I’m still very much a Liverpool girl at heart.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and continue to build in business. Integrity sits at the heart of everything I do, and I’m passionate about nurturing others, from supporting start-ups to helping people into employment. I believe real success comes from collaboration, trust and creating opportunities that allow businesses and individuals to grow together
How does it feel to be recognised in the Swindon & Wiltshire’s Most Inspiring Women list?
My focus has always been on supporting others, often behind the scenes. To be recognised by peers, clients and partners is incredibly special and deeply humbling. It’s a reminder that quiet, values-led work does make a difference, and it means more to me than I can put into words.
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
International Women’s Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of lifting one another up. To me, it’s about recognising the strength, resilience and capability of women in business, while also taking responsibility to support, mentor and create opportunities for others. I strongly believe that integrity, collaboration and kindness have a real place in business, and that when women support women, meaningful and lasting change happens.
This year’s IWD theme asks us to think about how giving benefits everyone. What’s an example from your work or community life where supporting another woman led to something meaningful in return?
It’s difficult to point to just one example, because supporting other women has been a consistent part of my work rather than a single moment. Often it’s been behind the scenes, making introductions, offering guidance, or encouraging someone to take a step they weren’t yet sure they could take. What comes back isn’t one defining outcome, but something far more meaningful – long-term relationships built on trust, collaboration and mutual respect. That support creates a ripple effect, strengthening businesses, building confidence and nurturing communities on both sides and that’s where the real value lies.
What piece of advice would you share with your younger self?
Surround yourself with the right women and don’t be afraid to ask for support along the way. Some of the most meaningful growth comes from shared experience, honest conversation and learning from those around you. Trust your instincts, stay true to your values, and know that success doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
