Awdry Law Managing Partner braves English Channel swim for local charities
Wiltshire legal practice Awdry Law has announced that its Managing Partner, Alex David, successfully swam the English Channel, covering over 21 miles from England to France.
This remarkable feat was accomplished to raise funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and Devizes Opportunity Centre.
Alex had been eagerly awaiting a suitable window for this challenge, and when the opportunity arose, he seized it. Throughout his swim, updates were shared via the Facebook channel, “Alex David’s English Channel Swim”, where his crew, following alongside, provided regular live streams.
Alex’s fundraising efforts have been met with overwhelming support. So far, he has raised over £9,000 for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice and Devizes Opportunity Centre, and there is still time to donate.
A representative from Julia’s House expressed their heartfelt gratitude, saying, “On behalf of all the children, families, and staff at Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, thank you. You are truly an inspiration, and your valuable support is helping us provide a lifeline of care to the seriously ill children and families who rely on the respite care we provide.”
Similarly, a representative from Devizes Opportunity Centre conveyed their appreciation, stating, “We would like to say a massive well done to Alex on this huge accomplishment to raise funds for us and Julia’s House. Thank you so much.”
Alistair Everett, Fellow Partner and Former Managing Partner at Awdry Law, added, “So proud of you, Alex. Simply fantastic and awe-inspiring. A huge well done and congratulations from us all to you.”
Adding a personal touch, during the live stream, his two daughter’s sent him a message saying, “Can you tell Daddy we are super proud of him, he’s doing a great job, and we love him with all our hearts.”
